ParaScale Software, Powering Cloud Storage

ParaScale software enables the enterprise or service provider to leverage user-selected commodity Linux hardware to build enormous storage pools at the industry's lowest cost points.

ParaScale cloud storage software clusters tens to hundreds of servers together to act as one giant file repository with massive capacity and parallel throughput for a variety of applications. Enterprises can build a public cloud or a private cloud by starting with a few terabytes, and then easily add commodity hardware to scale the cloud capacity and performance. Having shared access via a standard network and protocols, a single administrator can easily manage hundreds of servers, with the system automatically balancing out hot-spots and capacity utilization across the various nodes.

พึ่งจำได้ .. กำลังสมัครครับ​ ถ้าได้ผลอย่างไรจะมาบอกกัน นะครับ ..  ตั้ง 4TB จะหา Storage ที่ไหนมาลองกันดีเนี่ยย

มันเป็นเหมือน storage cluster หรือ ว่า แบบไหน กัน พอดี อ่าน แค่ Guide มานิดหน่อย

ได้ Account สำหรับการ Download แล้วครับ .. เท่าที่ดูน่าจะเป็นการ Linux หลาย ๆ ตัวลง Software มาทำเป็น Resource เพื่อเป็น Cloud Storage ครับ

หลังจากได้อ่านข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมจาก ParaScale Cloud Storage Getting Started Guide พอจะได้ทราบหลัการทำงานคร่าว ๆ โดย ParaScale Cloud Storage จะเป็น Software ที่เอา Linux มาทำเป็นตัว Storage ให้กับ Cloud โดยจะมีรูปแบบดังรูป



จากรูปจะมี 2 ส่วน

• 1. Control Node : ไว้เชื่อมต่อและจัดการ Storage ที่อยู่ใน Storage Node และให้บริการกับผู้ใใช้งาน
• 2. Storage Node : ไว้เก็บข้อมูลที่ให้บริการโดยสามารถขยายเพิ่มเติมได้ โดยติดตั้ง Storage Node เพิ่มเติมเข้าไปในส่วนของ Control Node

เท่าที่ดูคิดว่าการที่สามารถขยาย Storage Node ไปได้เรื่อย ๆ ก็จะทำให้ไม่มีปัญหาเรื่องที่จะแบ่ง Resource หรือ Limit ของพื้นที่ได้ ซึ่งที่ทาง ParaScale ให้ใช้งานจะอยู่ที่ขนาด 4 TB ในส่วนที่ให้เรา Download จะมี 2 รูปแบบคือ

• 1. VMWARE : ที่ทาง ParaScale ได้ติดตั้ง Software และ Linux มาให้เรียบร้อยแล้ว จะมี 2 Control Node และ 2 Storage Node
• 2. RPM : ส่วนนนี้จะให้นำเอา Software ไปติดตั้งที่ OS ของ Linux ที่รองรับการใช้งาน ซึ่งจะมีี 2 Platform คือ CentOS 5.2 (32‐ and 64‐bit versions) หรือ Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 (32‐ and 64‐bit versions)

ส่วนตัวผมยังไม่ได้ ทดสอบนะครับ .. แต่เท่าที่ดูคิดว่าน่าจะมีปัญหาในกรณีที่ Control Node เสียหายอาจจะทำให้ไม่สามารถใช้งานข้อมูลได้
